Kimber arms make some of the finest weapons around. I fell in love with the Kimber quality when I was learning to shoot for the very first time. My friends dad was teaching my friend and me how to shoot with bolt action .22’s. We took out a Ruger .22 and a Kimber .22 both with identical Leupold scopes. We took turns with both guns. Me being at the ripe age of 10 was not experienced with guns other than the Nerf guns my mom absolutely loathed (due to the sticky suction cup rings left on all things glass in the house/car). On this day I fell in love with 2 things. I began with the Ruger and fell in love immediately with powder powered projectiles, nerf guns were a thing in the past from that moment on. Then I switched to the Kimber and fell in love. This time it was with the highest quality American gun manufacture in existence. The feel of the Kimber in my hands before I pulled the trigger convinced me I had something magical. Then I pulled the trigger (applying a measly 3.5 lbs pressure), slid the bolt back discharging the used case and locked the next round into place. I felt a tingling sensation starting from my finger tips working my way up my arms. The gun was alive in my hands. I spoke to my friends dad about this and his response was, “Wait till you fire my .45”. To make a long story short, I opened a savings account a few months later to save up enough money to buy a few Kimber .45’s (I am a big opponent of the 9mm round which I will elaborate on in future posts) on the day I turn 21 (Not sure of other state laws but in California you have to be 21 to purchase and have a handgun registered in your name). In the meantime, when ever I need my “Kimber fix” I take my friend out to the range and always make sure that he invites his Kimber.

Why believe in God when it's so obvious that he doesn't exist? Not only does the Bible contain numerous contradictions, factual errors, and impossibilities, but it's also incredibly hateful, and it paints God as a vile, wrathful, monstrous being who only cares about being worshipped and praised, and who doesn't care about all of the people who are suffering through more than they can bear.

It's like Epicurus's famously said: "Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?" In other words, according to your religion, God can do anything, no matter how impossible it seems to us, correct? Therefore, God could get rid of evil without taking away our free will, even though that seems impossible to us. Yet he doesn't do that, which means that he himself must be evil, since he doesn't care one bit about the thousands of people who are suffering as a result of the existence of evil, so why worship him and call him "God" at all?

I mean, can you even prove that God exists? If not, then why believe in him at all? Seriously, think about it.

Believing in something more than just what is in front of your face is hard and I understand that. It takes a great amount of faith and trust and not all people are willing to invest that in something they cannot physically touch, taste, see, or smell. I have thought about many of the things that you have outlined in your message, and it is not easy to believe let me tell you. I recently became stronger and more devoted to my faith, but in my earlier years I wasn’t as interested. I come from an agnostic family, with the mindset of ” there maybe something after death, or maybe there isn’t”. I was always curious about God, but never had the motivation to seek him out. Then I met someone very very special to me, and she helped open the door to a whole new concept of faith for me. Before this, I would say that I had faith in a divine power, but I was confused about it all. Lately I have opened my heart to it and it has shown me a renewed way of life.

As far as the Bible, I can relate to your qualms. What I have also learned by attending a Christian Church is that one cannot take the text and translate it literally. The teachings are not meant for the reader to look at them and act them out word for word as they are in the Bible. I mean, I don’t know of many people being crucified anymore as a way if punishment and death. The conflicts going on in ancient times are extremely synonymous with the conflicts of today, the reader just needs to look carefully and understand the cultural and social differences of our world from theirs.

Now let me ask you to think about something, I don’t know about you, but the way I know God exists is through experiences in my life that point to His existence. The next time you are aware of how brilliant this world is and amidst all the suffering and destruction that there is still possibilities to find peace. When you get a feeling of pure solitude and perfection then think about if God really exists or not.

If nothing of what I said changes your mind in anyway I understand. It is a very hard concept to grasp and even the most devout christians still have issues with their faith. I respect you and your beliefs and Ideas just as much as I do people in my church. Thank you for your time.

Opinion: Gun Control:

I could start talking about the constitution specifically the second amendment, but what person with a 6 grade education or higher does not know that we have the right to own a gun in America. Why do we fight for this right? Well let me ask you this, Why do we fight for any of our rights? To protect ourselves. I reserve the right to own a gun in order to protect my family and myself from intruders and threats to our lives. Some would say that owning a gun is dangerous and that gun owners cannot wait to shoot to kill. My response to that is this (set aside biased beliefs and let common sense take control of your opinions for once) , 1. Which is more dangerous: an intruder in your home breaks in and is threatening your your family, you look around for the best way to defend yourself and end up picking up a steak knife left in the kitchen sink from dinner. OR, you are prepared with a loaded gun ( locked in a finger print quick open safe which only you have access to see http://www.safetysafeguards.com/site/402168/product/GV1000CDLX) and either eliminate the threat or forcefully escort him out of your house which he will most likely be discouraged from ever entering uninvited again. My response to the “shoot to kill” comment is as follows: If I have to I will, but every night I pray that I will never ever ever have to use my handgun to kill someone. Ever. Guns are like condoms, it is better to have one and not need one than need one and not have one.

The Judge Meets Competition:

Most learned gun owners know that Taurus came out with “The Judge”. A revolutionary revolver that holds 5 rounds shooting .410 shells and .45 LC/ACP. A very flexible and appealing gun for those looking for self defense in the home and extremely compact making it comfortable to strap on and carry for portable self defense. It will be interesting looking at this new “Governor” because of the added round in the cylinder. If it is as effective and handy as “The Judge” it would seem silly to favor the Taurus over the S&W. Unless you swear by the Taurus brand, I would look into this new S&W and see it’s performance. With that being said, if it is not as practical as the “Judge” then it is decision time. Do you want the extra round or the performance… I wish I could get my hands onto both to test them out.
